Bollywood Hindi Hits Internet Music Station

In the mid 1990's I was introduced to Bollywood movies. I began to collect music I really liked based on the melodies, arrangements, singer preference and lyrics. My collection currently consists of about 1200 tunes, most from the mid-1990's and later.

I truly love listening to these tunes because of how they sound, what they say and, as is the case for many people, because of the memories - hopefully good - they evoke. In general, I really like the softer, melodious love songs and select tunes that have a catchy beat, to my ears at least. I get real pleasure in sharing this collection of songs with others since I have discovered that many people like the same songs. It just warms me to know that all through the day and night, from all around the world, that people are listening to my collection, presumably enjoying the same songs that I find so uplifting. That is my only reason for doing this. I have no commercial motive. I am not trying to sell anything or raise money.

	As you might already know, or guess, I am a VERY BIG Alka Yagnik fan, hence the nick-name "Alka Yagnik Fan." When I started listening to Bollywood music, I noticved very quickly that Alka Yagnik's singing had a "magical" impact on me and she very quickly became my most favourite artist and I sought to gather her songs. I am grateful to her for this gift. I have had the very great privilege to personally meet with Alka-ji, her mother and daughter on a number of different occassions in Mumbai and Vancouver over the past several years. Even though Alka-ji is so very busy and such a celebrity, she, and her family, took the time to see me, one of her zillion fans, and make me feel so very comfortable and welcome. What a thrill it was to chat with her, listen to her sing, watch her record, and to have a chance to personally thank her for her wonderful music. I can say that she is truly a genuinely wonderful person in addition to being such an extraordinary artist.
I have been fortunate so see a few of the great Bollywood singers in concert. These include Alka Yagnik, of course, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Sukhwindher Singh. I'd love to hear Abhijeet in concert and, of course, Alka Yagnik over and over again. I live in Vancouver, Canada, which is a very beautiful part of the world.
